From the "National Treasure" Collection
Tengu Ganryosome-shi is a thin, yet strong Tosa paper, specially handmade by Mr. Sachio Hamada who, under Japanese law, has been designated a "Living National Treasure" for his production of this traditionally handmade art paper.

Using the purest kozo (mulberry) fibers, first, the white sheets of paper are formed following a 1500-year old tradition of Japanese hand-papermaking. After the sheets are dried, each sheet is dyed using light-fast pigments. This paper is wonderful for layering in collage work, (a single layer produces a watercolor effect on a pale surface). It is also used for interleaving in bookmaking.

Package contains fifteen 7 1/2"x 11" sheets.
